The Embassy Suites Hotel is an all-Suite Atrium-style Hotel located in the Isla Verde district, one block from the ocean and about 3 miles from the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU).  I have reserved for 25 persons. The rate will be $129.00 plus tax (24%) per night.  A Complimentary Cooked-to-Order Breakfast is included with the stay. The hotel does not offer shuttle transportation. However, taxi fare from the hotel to the airport is about $10.00 each way. For reservations and more information about the hotel can be found at: www.sanjuan.embassysuites.com. Reservations should be done individually before October 15, 2009. The name of event is UPR-Recinto de Mayaguez-W-2128.

A registration fee of $125.00 will be assessed for the meeting room, meals, break costs and field trip.  The registration fee will include:

·        November 16-17, 2009.  A mid morning coffee break, plated lunch, and a mid afternoon coffee break.  

·        November 18, 2009.  Transportation, refreshments and snacks will be provided during our trip from the hotel to:

o       University of Puerto Rico – Adjuntas Substation (mountainous humid region) of the Agricultural Experiment Station (coffee, citrus, exotics fruits under microirrigation, and compost processing plant for research).

o       Vegetable producing area in southern Puerto Rico.  A lunch will be schedule and provided in a restaurant in route to the farms.
