Comments from Administrative Advisor, Michael Burke
Dr. Burke recognized the efforts of Freddie Lamm in developing the new W-128 project. The project was approved and proceeded through the process with minimal comments. Thank you to Freddie for all of his work in completion of the project. The new project was approved through 2004 (Five years). This meeting is the final meeting of our old project. Therefore, reports provided by the States should present information with respect to the old project.
Dr. Burke will receive the list of attendees, minutes, and the annual report for this project. Information for development of the annual report needs to be submitted in an electronic form to Howard Neibling by December 1, 1999.
The new project can have members added to the group. Potential members will need a form submitted to their Experiment Station for approval to participate in the project. Dr. Burke or Muluneh Yitayew (serving as the W-128, chair) can complete the report for submission to the Experiment Station.
CSREES has a new requirement for Extension Services to have 25% of their time participating in multi-state and multi-disciplinary efforts. Participation in the W-128 project will meet this requirement.
