Station Alfalfa Trials

The Malheur Experiment Station is currently running two alfalfa variety trials and several weed control trials. One of the current variety trials was established in 1995 and contains 32 different varieties of alfalfa. A second trial was established in fall of 1998. Both variety trials are planned for harvests over five years. Seed for the variety trials is entered by cooperating seed companies who wish to receive a non-biased opinion on the forage yield and quality.
